Should you or shouldn’t you hire a mold remediation service? It’s a question a lot of homeowners may be asking when it comes to mold invading their home. In reality it’s always a good idea if you can afford to do so, but for many of us the word afford can be a frightening thing. So here are a few things to consider when you’re trying to decide whether or not to hire a professional mold remediation service.

3. If you know there’s mold in your home, but you can’t see them, hire a professional.

5. If you see a small amount of fungus on your shower wall or kitchen sink, you can do-it-yourself.
6. If you know the mold you’re dealing with is simply mildew, do-it-yourself.

8. If you’re renting a home and spot black mold, call your landlord and have him hire a professional.
9. If you’re interested in buying a home, ask the homeowner to hire a professional if you suspect there may be a fungus problem or better yet, ask that it be done even if you don’t suspect there is a problem.
10. If you thought you could do the cleanup yourself, but suddenly realized you’re in over your head, hire a mold remediation service. It’s better to be safe and know that your hard earned money was spent on a worthwhile situation, than find that all of the time, effort and money you invested yourself just didn’t remove your fungus problem permanently.
