Fish

Salmon is among the healthiest of foods that you can eat. This is mainly due to the high concentration of Omega 3 fatty acids, and other healthy nutrients. Baking salmon is the easiest way to cook it, and it’s the fastest. There are many baked salmon recipes out there, but the one listed below shows you how to cook it quickly and easily. All you need is your everyday ingredients found in your kitchen.

Step One Preheat your oven, or your toaster oven to three hundred and fifty degrees.

Step Two You should always check to be sure there are no bones in the salmon that you are about to prepare. If you happen to find any, be sure to discard them right away.

Step Three Align an oven tray or a cookie sheet with aluminum foil. This will make the cleanup process quick and easy. After you have aligned the tray with the foil, place the salmon on it.

Step Four Place butter on your salmon. Real butter is preferred over margarine, but both will do just fine. Be sure that you cover the entire piece of salmon. Get into every crack and crevice. If it is necessary, soften the butter in your microwave.

How to Cook SalmonStep Five Dribble the salmon with dried parsley and lemon pepper. Squirt a tiny bit of lemon juice on the salmon, but be sure it is fresh.

Step Six Cover loosely with aluminum foil and place into the preheated oven or toaster oven.

Step Seven The salmon should bake for about twelve to fifteen minutes. This will vary depending on the size of the salmon, and the thickness. Allow for more cooking time for the larger and thicker slices of salmon.

Step Eight You should zest lemon and set it aside while the salmon is baking.

Step Nine Check to see if your salmon is fully cooked after about eight minutes. Stick a fork into the part of the salmon that is the thickest. If it is done it should be flaky. If the salmon is still raw or tough then you should continue to bake it. Keep checking the salmon every two minutes or so.

Step Ten When your salmon is cooked thoroughly, remove it from the oven. After you uncover it sprinkle some of the lemon zest on it. You can serve this with tarter sauce and lemon wedges.
